University of Colorado (Boulder, Colorado).  Majored in Broadcast Production in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, maintaining a 3.2 GPA. Received high marks in Radio Production, Sports Broadcasting, Radio and Television News Writing, Directing, and Editing courses. Awarded BS, June 2006.

1996-2000
Brookline High School. (Brookline, Massachusetts) Completed "AP" Advanced Placement classes in English (writing), physics, and French language. Active in intramural basketball, varsity lacrosse and JV wrestling. Awarded diploma, June 2000.

1993
Johns-Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth. Accepted to and attended  Summer Program in Mathematics at Goucher College, Towson, Maryland.

Experience and Skills

Photographed and wrote a travelogue about places and personal experiences encountered in a half year of around the world travelling to the Pacific Islands, Southeast Asia, India, Turkey, Greece, Eastern Europe, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and France.

Created the character Ace Harmon: Retro Detective and wrote the yet-to-be-published comedic noir detective novella Cross Children Walk.

In the summer of 2005, performed principle photography and edited a submission to the HBO documentary Paradise Lost 3.

Produced and edited a 6-minute mini-documentary on the “Big Wheel Rally,” an annual charity fund-raiser in Boulder, Colorado.

Played bass guitar with the band Nutria, an eclectic rock trio. Produced self-titled CD ‘Nutria’, released April 2000.

Wrote and produced a 5 song demo as Turban Head entitled Five Tracks to Groove To in 2001.  Produced and played bass on two hip hop tracks for Bic2Pen (Kyron Allen) in 2002.  Played with Alice Evans, Jamie Laviner, and Jeremy Garretson in a band called Reverence in 2007-2008.

Assisted in installing and administering a 9-computer home LAN from 1995 to 2000. Reasonably  conversant with basic unix/linux functions. Comfortable in working with PC hardware, including installation and configuration of internal components and peripherals.

Previous Employment

2006-2008
Assistant Manager – Music Department – Barnes & Noble of Boulder, Colorado.
Provided customer service and assisted in the maintenance and management of the Music Department of the large Barnes & Noble store near the University of Colorado campus in Boulder. Began as a Music Seller before being promoted Music Lead/Assistant Manager for the department.

2004-Present
Freelance Web Design. Designed several websites including Jordan Curet Photography, Alla Lazebnik Art, and The Hyperfiction Network, as well as multiple band websites, MySpace pages and personal homepages. Also, have maintained a blog since 2002 and have assisted others in creating blogs using both Wordpress and LiveJournal.

2003-Present
Freelance Videography. Worked with TBS College Gameday, KBCO, Fox Sports, the NCAA, Ruckus Media and Buff Vision on productions of sporting events, other events, and programming. Specific duties included parabolic mic operation, camera, utility, tape/replay operation, videography, editing, and logging as well as miscellaneous tasks.

2000-2007
News Director (2006-2007) – Radio 1190 KVCU, Boulder, Colorado.  Oversaw the news team, the production of three weekly shows, the production of pre-produced segments and trained staff (including production managers) on non-linear editing systems and digital equipment.  Also was regular on-air talent and sub DJ.  Produced and did voice work for Think Tanks, Roots segments, news stories, and film reviews. Involved in all phases of production and editing; worked as sound engineer; trained other personnel in the use of Pro Tools; and, trained students and volunteers in the principles of radio production.

2000-2004
Summer Camp Counselor and Assistant Office Manager – Kaleidoscope Arts and Sciences Camp, Newton, Massachusetts.  Counselor duties included supervising all age groups during pre-camp and extended day as well as 5th-8th grades during the day; office duties consisted of designing and maintaining databases, purchasing and ordering supplies. Also ran lighting and audio for stage performances.

1998-1999
Tech Support and Customer Service Representative – The Internet Access Company (TIAC) in Woburn, Massachsuetts.  Proved basic telephone support to customers having problems setting up or operating personal computers with dial-up connections to the Internet; answered and triaged incoming calls during peak overload periods; provided assistance to network technicians; maintained equipment inventory for field service personnel. TIAC, which had as many as 30,000 user accounts, is now part of Earthlink.
